ACTING CLASSES

ACTING/DRAMA FOR YOUTH, ages 8-13 - Introductory/Beginner Level

Instructor: Mr. Eric Wheeler

This drama class is a beginner's course that will teach the fundamentals of acting. Students will learn various techniques and exercises that will help develop their gift. Students will also learn how God can use the art of acting for His kingdom.

CCD Lyrical is the primary technique that is taught throughout all the classes.  CCD Lyrical is a combination of Modern, Ballet, Jazz, and Interpretive dance styles.  All classes have a dance ministry component.  Students will be asked to bring a bible and notebook to class.

DANCE CLASSES

PRE-BALLET/JAZZ, ages 3-5 

This class is designed for our youngest dancer as it prepares the dancer for movement and dance ministry. Techniques taught are a combination of ballet, jazz, interpretive and flag ministry.  Students learn basic class etiquette, learning to take turns and group participation. Students are exposed to ballet terminology such as plie, releve, chasse, and passe explained in simple terms the young dancer will remember. A portion of the class is set aside for stretching to develop flexibility and free dance.

 

YOUTH IA/BALLET & JAZZ, ages 5-8 - Beginner Level

This class is designed for our youngest dancer as it prepares the dancer for movement and dance ministry.  It is designed to introduce the ministry of dance and beginner ballet. It is geared to youth with little or no dance ministry and technique experience.  Class will begin with 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Dramatic Expression is also taught in this course.

 

YOUTH 2A/BALLET & JAZZ, ages 8-12 - Beginner Level

This class is designed for dancers with intro-beginner ballet & jazz as it prepares the dancer for movement and dance ministry.  It is designed to introduce the ministry of dance and beginner - advanced beginner ballet  introducing lyrical movement.  Class will begin with 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Dramatic Expression is also taught in this course.

 

YOUTH 1B/LYRICAL, Ballet & Jazz - Advanced Beginner Level - **Audition may be required

This class is designed for our teen dancers with formal dance training in intermediate ballet & jazz as it begins an intermediate level. Techniques taught are a combination of ballet, contemporary jazz, lyrical and flag ministry.  Class will begin with 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Dramatic Expression is also taught in this course.

 

YOUTH 3/LYRICAL, Teens - Intermediate - **Audition may be required

This class is designed for our teen dancers with formal dance training in intermediate ballet & jazz as it begins an intermediate level. Techniques taught are a combination of ballet, contemporary jazz, lyrical and flag ministry.  Class will begin with 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Dramatic Expression is also taught in this course.

 

MATURE WOMEN/INTRO TO LYRICAL - Introductory Level

This class is designed to give dancers a solid foundation in dance ministry and an introduction to ballet, lyrical, flag ministry & dramatic expression.  Class will begin with a gentle warm-up followed by 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Across the floor and center floor execrises are applied to develop working knowledge of the techniques taught at the barre.

 

ADULT 2/LYRICAL - Intermediate Level - **Audition may be required

This class is designed for dancers with formal dance training in beginner ballet & jazz as it begins at an advanced beginner level. Techniques taught are a combination of ballet, contemporary jazz, lyrical and flag ministry.  Class will begin with 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Dramatic Expression is also taught in this course.

 

ADULT IA/LYRICAL - Beginner/Advanced Beginner Level

This class is designed to quickly moved beyond the introductory level of lyrical and advance to an intermediate level.  Class will begin with a gentle warm-up followed by 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Across the floor and center floor execrises are applied to develop working knowledge of the techniques taught at the barre.

 

ADULT IB/LYRICAL - Beginner/Advanced Beginner Level

This class is designed to quickly moved beyond the beginner level of lyrical and advance to an intermediate level.  ***This class moved faster than the level IA class.  Itwill begin with a warm-up followed by 20-30mins of barre work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Across the floor and center floor execrises are applied to develop working knowledge of the techniques taught at the barre.
