Intro to Movement - Intro to Liturgical - Liturgical I - Liturgical II - Dramatic Expression

Intro to Movement, ages 3-7yrs - OPEN FOR REGISTRATION
The course is designed to give our youngest dancer a solid foundation with a concentration in Ballet and the
ministry of dance.  Students learn basic class etiquette, learning to take turns and group participation.
Students are exposed to ballet terminology such as plie, releve, chasse, and passe explained in simple terms the
young dancer will remember. A portion of the class is set aside for stretching to develop flexibility and free
dance.

Dramatic Arts, ages 8-12yrs - CLOSED
This course is designed for youth who are interest and have a desire to act, dance & writing scripts/scenes.  
Youth will learn dramatic expression and have an opportunity to explore their creativity.

Intro to Liturgical Dance, Teens and Adults -
This course is designed for those adults and teens, which have a desire to learn about liturgical dance.  It is a
class that will build a knowledge base in both traditional dance styles and biblical basis of the arts, in
particular the art of dance. The technical portion of the class will address proper body positioning, stretching
and movement with a basis in ballet, interpretive dance and dramatic expression. Students will be exposed to
variations of liturgical dance including the ministry of flags, streamers and fabric.  Emphasis in the class will
be on proper body maintenance.  Basic anatomy and nutrition basics are also taught. Quizzes and assessments
will also be given at the discretion of the instructor to ensure continued growth.

Liturgical Dance I, Youth or Teens and Adults -
This course is designed for those adults and teens who have successfully completed “Intro to Liturgical” or
have had prior dance experience.  It is a class that will build upon the foundation taught in the previous
course and go deeper into the ministry of the arts, in particular the art of dance. Basic knowledge of Ballet,
Liturgical or Lyrical movement is a must as this class develops the student's control of alignment in basic
ballet vocabulary and the student's strength in centered-alignment.  Class will begin with 20-30mins of barre
work which builds understanding of ballet vocabulary that incorporates: use of the spine and torso; outward
rotation of the legs; articulation of the feet and use of the arms in port de bras.  Dramatic Expression is also
taught in this course.

Liturgical Dance II, Teens and Adults
This course is designed for those adults and teens who have successfully completed “Liturgical I” or have
passed the entrance exam.  This class is an intermediate dance class. Dramatic Expression will be taught in this
course.
